DAMASCUS - As many as 67 armed insurgents were killed Wednesday by the Syrian troops in the northern province of Aleppo, the pro-government Sham FM radio said.
The Syrian troops' offensive at the al-Marjeh neighborhood came hours after a spate of blasts that struck the Sa'ad Allah al- Jabiri square in Aleppo and killed 34 people, with as many as 122 others injured.
"We will follow the killers and we will not waver to root out those who tamper with the security of the society," Syria's Interior Ministry said in a statement carried by the state-run SANA news agency.
The ministry claimed that those blasts have occurred due to the deadly blows that have been dealt to the armed groups and their backers in Aleppo by the Syrian troops.
