Al-Qaida assassinates security coordinator

SANAA - Suspected al-Qaida militants killed a senior Yemeni security coordinator between the Yemeni government and the US embassy in the capital Sanaa on Thursday, said an official of the Yemeni interior ministry.
"Qasim Aklan, the Yemeni security coordinator between the Yemeni government and the US embassy in Sanaa, who also works as director of terror-related investigations in the US embassy, was assassinated earlier Thursday in a street near the residential compound of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi," the interior ministry's official told Xinhua.
