WASHINGTON - China is committed to cultivating a new type of harmonious and win-win cooperative partnership with the United States, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official said here Tuesday.
Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a luncheon hosted by the World Affairs Council of Washington DC.
He briefed the attendants on the 18th CPC National Congress held last month in Beijing and expounded the positive influence of China's domestic and foreign policies established at the congress upon the country's future development and foreign relations.
Wang also answered questions related to the characteristics and connotations of the new type of great-power relations, the cultural exchanges between the two countries, and bilateral cooperation on global and regional affairs.
Some 150 people, including politicians, experts, scholars and celebrities, attended the luncheon.
