Don the sheepdog fails his driving test
The M74 motorway in Scotland was hit by traffic chaos last week when a sheepdog was spotted "driving" a tractor.
The dog, called Don, from Kirkton Farm in Abington, South Lanarkshire, leaned on the controls causing it to career through the farm fence. The tractor then went onto the motorway, and finally crashed into the central reservation.
Traffic Scotland later tweeted: "M74 (N) at J13 – Route is clear from earlier incident and dog is fine. Has to be the weirdest thing we have ever reported! No delays in area."
Both Don and the tractor belong to farmer Tom Hamilton. Initially it was Tom driving. He got down to retrieve a lamb which was about to escape through a gate but failed to put the brake on. When he turned round he saw his tractor, and sheepdog, heading out of the farm.
