Chinese President Xi leaves for Venezuela

BUENOS AIRES - Chinese President Xi Jinping left for Venezuela after wrapping up his state visit to Argentina on Sunday.

During his three-day visit, Xi held talks with his Argentine counterpart Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, and met with the country's parliament leaders.
On Friday, Xi and Fernandez agreed to upgrade bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership from strategic partnership, which was established 10 years ago.
The two heads of state also signed a joint statement and witnessed the signing of a series of agreements in such fields as trade, investment, agriculture, finance and infrastructure.
Xi is on a four-nation Latin America tour, which includes Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela and Cuba.
In Brazil, he attended the sixth BRICS summit and met leaders from Latin American and Caribbean nations.
