BEIJING -- Rainstorm will hit China's southern regions over the next three days, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said on Saturday.
The NMC forecast rainstorms in parts of Sichuan, Guizhou, Hunan and Hubei provinces, with precipitation in some areas expected to reach 120 mm.
The country's weather observatory also forecast that drought regions in the provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Henan will see some rain over the weekend.
The drought in northeast China has hit 2.73 million hectares of crops as of Thursday, however, a Ministry of Agriculture official predicted on Thursday that the impact on the overall harvest will be limited.
