Hong Kong should be more welcoming
NPC deputy Peter Wong Man-kong, chairman of MK Corporation Ltd and North West Development Ltd, said Hong Kong should be more open to pregnant women from the mainland seeking better maternity services and also be more welcoming to mainland tourists, when speaking at a seminar of the Hong Kong delegation discussing premier Li Keqiang's work report.
Wong also proposed that Hong Kong should not impose restrictions on infant milk powder sales to mainlanders, after a string of domestic milk powder scandals damaged consumers' faith.
He recommended that Hong Kong set distinct tourism and residents' living zones to avoid tourists interrupting locals' lives.
