Deeply in love couple makes promise at the Potala Palace
Ding Yizhou and Lai Min, a couple deeply in love, made their promise for life in front of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, the sacred place they longed to visit, reported Beijing Times on Monday.
It wasn't an easy trip for them. They started their trip in the beginning of the year in hopes of following a heart-shaped route from Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
That is quite an ambitious plan for two healthy people. However, Lai Min suffers from a serious illness that leaves her unable to walk or swallow. Ding had to push her wheelchair all the way and sometimes used an electric vehicle.
When the journey started, they said that although it would be awesome if they made the whole trip, they enjoyed the feeling of being "on the road", even if their trip was interrupted.
They arrived in Lhasa on July 1 and Ding proposed to Lai four days later. Their love inspired many passersby and the couple received blessings.
