University's new rule: female students can ask for on campus escort after 11:00 pm
Wuhan University is promoting a service: female students can call campus security guards to escort them back to dormitories after 11 pm, Xinhua reported on Sunday.
The service tries to help students who stay up to work on assignments in the labs or who have emergencies such as illness or delayed arrivals.
Most people give credit to the service, while a few think it suggests the campus is not safe and encourages students get back to the dorms even later.
Ten safety guards and five patrol cars are on duty every night at the university.
