Eight members of the US House of Representatives - Ed Royce (D-CA), chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs; Rick Larsen (D-WA), co-chair of the congressional US-China Working Group; Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), ranking member of the House Budget Committee and candidate for US Senate in 2016; Judy Chu (D-CA), chairwoman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus; Grace Meng (D-NY); Rick Nolan (D-MN); Ted Lieu (D-CA); and Denny Heck (D-WA) - attended a reception held by China Daily USA to celebrate the publication of its new book, Chinese Enterprises in the United States 2015, on Capitol Hill in Washington on Tuesday.
The book profiles 83 Chinese companies that have invested in the US across a variety of industries, including well-known names like Sinopec (No 1 on Fortune's Global 500 list), Wanda, Lenovo, Alibaba and more.
Members of Congress praised China Daily USA's efforts to keep American readers informed on Chinese companies' activities in the US and applauded its role in promoting understanding between the two countries.
