SHOW
The Taming of the Shrew by TNT Theater Britain
Date: Oct 10 - 7:30 pm
Venue: Nine Theater
Price: 60-380 yuan
The Taming of the Shrew is a comedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written between 1590 and 1592. The play begins with a framing device, often referred to as the induction, in which a mischievous nobleman tricks a drunken tinker named Christopher Sly into believing he is actually a nobleman himself. The nobleman then has the play performed for Sly's diversion. The main plot depicts the courtship of Petruchio and Katherina, the headstrong, obdurate shrew. Initially, Katherina is an unwilling participant in the relationship, but Petruchio tempers her with various psychological torments - the "taming" - until she becomes a compliant and obedient bride. The subplot features a competition between the suitors of Katherina's more desirable sister, Bianca. The play's apparent misogynistic elements have become the subject of considerable controversy, particularly among modern scholars, audiences and readers. TNT Theater was founded in 1980 in Britain and since then has established itself as one of the most popular international touring theater companies in the world.

This Summer Feige Weekend Bazaar is organized exclusively around Beijing. The idea is to follow along the same lines as our Feige Vintage Fair, but smaller in scale, with immersive themes; all conveniently taking place on the weekend without entrance fees. This allows us to organize more events, in shorter time spans. Feige Vintage Bazaar will feature our vintage market, food & drink providers, DJs and musical performances. After one busy month organizing the fair in Sanlitun, our Weekend Bazaar move to Wangjing. We will put some vintage in this cosmopolite atmosphere! Don't plan to go again to one of the hundreds fast food or Korean restaurants around the area, but come to our fair; you'll get nice food and have lot of fun. If you have a motorbike feel free to drive to our weekend bazaar, we have place to park your vehicle and we'll organize a "retro motorbike" show. Come with your friends to buy some nice products, join our eating hot-dog & watermelon competition, and only for people who don't drive: beer contest!
