China World Mall is exhibiting a collection of more than 100 Barbie dolls, in collaboration with the American toy company Mattel. Aside from limited-edition Barbies, there are also dolls modeled after movie stars like Elisabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn. The event opened with Chinese fashion designer Away Lee putting on a runway show themed around Barbie. It was followed by a series of promotions in the mall.
New T-shirt tie-up
Japanese fashion brand Uniqlo recently announced a collaboration with Brooklyn-based pop artist KAWS for its Uniqlo T-shirts line known as UT. The new collection will be introduced in spring. The UT line has had previous collaborations like SPRZ NY and the Shochiku Kabuki series, fusing fashion with graphics inspired by pop culture.
