A university student jumped to her death from a building after she spent her two-year tuition fees on shopping, China Youth Daily reported on Monday.
Chang Ya'nan, 20, a junior at the China University of Geosciences, died after she jumped from a dorm's 13th floor on June 18, leaving a message in her room, the report said.
Chang, from the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, wrote in her message that she was afraid to face her family and friends, because she spent all money, including tuition fees that her parents gave her, to do online shopping, the report said.
A university cleaner found her body about an hour after she jumped and called police, the report added.
