HANGZHOU -- Customs in East China's Zhejiang province have busted a case of counterfeit Adidas sneakers being sold on a cross-border e-commerce site.
In less than a month in late 2015, customs officers intercepted 1,181 pairs of "Adidas" sneakers in 1,049 parcels, the customs of Hangzhou, the provincial capital, said on Monday.
The seller made more than $200,000 dollars within a year by selling the shoes abroad on Alibaba, according to the investigation of the e-commerce giant.
Fu Jianping with Hangzhou customs said following the successful operation, customs and Alibaba would jointly investigate rights infringements through information sharing and big data analysis.
