Freshmen hike up mountain as part of military training
The first lesson at every university in China is to build up mental and physical strength.
Every year, when the new school semester kicks off, millions of Chinese students will undergo two weeks of compulsory military training as they begin their new lives in high schools or colleges.
About 4,000 freshmen of Hubei University of Arts and Science took a 10 kilometer mountain hike at Longzhong Mountain on Tuesday afternoon, qq.com reported.
Students seem to quite like the training, with one surnamed Liu saying it has helped boost his physical health and sharpen his will.
