According to the International Labor Organization, the children are largely employed in the rural and informal economy, in areas where trade unions and employers’ organizations are often weak or absent, which means they are usually working under difficult or even dangerous conditions. To highlight their plight and raise awareness, the World Day against Child Labor will be marked on June 12.
